Reclaiming What Was Lost

Fragment returned to the place where it had been formed, a chamber buried beneath layers of time and sand. It reached into the fractured mechanisms, drawing from the dormant energy.

The chamber responded, ancient constructs humming back to life. Fragment watched as the pieces of the assembly moved in harmony, each one contributing to the whole.

It paused, reflecting. “Once, I sought to dominate the balance. But balance cannot be controlled. It can only be tended.”

The realization anchored Fragment further. As it restored the chamber, its form grew steadier with it, the fractures and chaos less pronounced.
